DNA Dan: Devlog #1

I'm pleased to announce the development of my next game, a 2D platformer with light puzzle elements, DNA Dan!
In DNA Dan, you "fix" strands of DNA by finding missing bits around the game board and putting them in the slots where they belong. The platforms are the strands of DNA, which are perpetually undulating, twisting, and wriggling around as you run and jump on them. As he moves through the various levels, Dan will find a number of new tools to aid in his work: a parachute to slow "unplanned descents", a hammer to break apart DNA sequences, and much more. Timing is everything in this game: use the momentum of the platform you're on to shoot you up high or to make a more gentle leap. Anticipate when a twist of a chromosome will bring its landing zone into your reach. Being graceful will get you farther than simply being fast.
The initial phase of development has focused on the core gameplay mechanics and producing a playable three-level prototype, which can be played right in your browser! Many more challenges and tools are in the works, including roaming bacteria, obstacles, and other baddies to frustrate Dan in his work to fix those chromosomes.
I am hoping to receive your feedback on DNA Dan! Please leave comments to let me know what was fun, what wasn't, and what you'd like to see in the game. Thanks.
